Naked in the Coffee House
'Naked in the Coffee House' by Robert Grant is a new collection of post-beat poetry written in the bars and cafes of his beloved Berlin. Grant's sharp and darkly witty observations of modern life show the true underbelly of this vibrant cosmopolitan city. In this book, Grant talks about philosophy, pop culture and the dirty little secrets no one talks about. Blending poetry styles, form and structure, he enables the reader to experience the honest reality of human nature. It marks the 10 year anniversary of his first full collection and is filled with a very personal selection of his favorite poems. It also includes fifteen new pieces written exclusively for this book. After university in Southampton (England), Robert Grant was published in a number of small independent magazines including Love Words, Beat and The Blackmail Press. His first full collection was released in 2005 by Searle publishing as a solo spoken word poetry album entitled 'The Rambling Man'. His post-beat poetry has now been published on 4 continents and lead to performances on numerous stages, events and festivals all across the world. Grant found his poetic voice whilst travelling through America and Mexico, arriving in Berlin in 2007 where he founded and runs two popular poetry shows 'Beatstreet' and 'The Poetic Groove' . He now calls Berlin home where he lives with his wife and daughter.
