Family - Love One Another
Y ou probably don't think much about the fact that a support system and family are important to your mental and physical health. And, you might not have chosen your family members, and sometimes you don't understand them, but out of all the people on the planet, they're the ones who are your blood and should love you unconditionally, and you should love them back. They're the ones who cherish you, and whom you should cherish in return.
Here's what I know: we can eat right and exercise all day long, but if our relationships aren't healthy and we don't have that family support and network, you won't be in a state of homeostasis, and really your life can be toxic to your own health and well-being. Homeostasis is defined as a process that maintains the stability of the human body's internal environment in response to changes in external conditions. Without love and support from your family and friends, your health, no matter how healthy you are, will be affected both physically and mentally. We have an innate need to feel loved, wanted, and accepted, and when we don't get that, we are starving at a level we are not even aware of.
"Vitamin L" is so important to your health and well-being. You may have never heard of this vitamin before, because it doesn't really exist in pill, isotonic form, or any other edible form for that matter. Of course I am talking about love. God wants us to love one another. Not only does He want us to love one another, His Word commands us to love one another several times in the Bible. For example:
Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13:34-35 )
God IS Love.
God's love is unreproducible.
God's love is unconditional.
God's love is unfathomable,
God's love is unfailing,
God's love is unending.
I learned the greatest love from my beautiful mother, her actions and words, and how she unselfishly loved me every day. When I think of God's love for us, I think of my mom. She was always there for me, and my prayer was that someday I would give that back tenfold to her.
I was brought up in a home that taught you should never let a day go by where you don't "show and tell" love, to the people who are closest to you. Love is an action, and we need to be deliberate about it to demonstrate it.
My Dear Mom
Our primary goal in life should be to love, please, honor and glorify God, and others. My mom instilled that in me at an early age, and I was a witness to how love and family were so important. Consequently, to me, family and friends always signified love. No matter what happened in the world, I knew God loved me and I knew that my mom, family and close friends loved me.
Well as God would have it, I had the pleasure of taking care of my mom for twenty-plus years, and I am so grateful for that. It was my honor and pleasure to serve my mom. No matter what the weather, no matter what plans there were, I was there for Mom. There wasn't enough time in the day, but I made sure I'd carve out time for Mom.
My mom, the one who carried me in her womb, and sacrificed her entire life for me. The one who worked so hard every day at a job to provide for us, raised her family, and loved us kids like no other.
As Mom grew older, I cut down on my work and I was there morning, noon, and night. After all, I was always very aware of the fact that someday she would be gone, like my dad and sister. And I wanted to help her live as long as she could. She had told me that she didn't want to be in a nursing home ever, nor did I want her to be. She used to say, "When I wanted Robbie to be a nurse, I didn't know that I would be her number one patient
