Computer systems in newspaper production call for an entirely new form of work organization in all areas of newspaper publishing. The volume centres around an empirical study devised to point up the actual impact of computer systems on the everday work of editors. The study operates with questionnaires and text analyses. It transpires that a number of technical tasks have shifted to the editorial level and also that the internal organization of the various departments has been affected by the use of computers.
