Lamentation of a Soul
Lamentation of a Soul
If there was anything so beautiful, so awesome, so marvelous, so miraculous and so Divine, it was the Word made Flesh. The second Person of the Trinity became man! How was it that the invisible God of the old Israel, I AM, the Almighty God, decided to make Himself known to humanity in the third Person of the Holy Trinity, in Jesus Christ? Was it simply the urge to redeem humanity? What exactly prompted this Divine gesture?
Oh, it's wonderful to realize it was His fatherly instinct, instigated by Love - Divine Love - selfless love for the Beloved. Such love does not count the cost. All that matters is the well-being of the Beloved to the point of emptying oneself, suffering to the bitter end. God is, in the first place Father. He loves being a Father and He dotes on the children He created therefore, He would go to any length for their safety. "I have delight in the human race" this way God revealed His infinite attachment to humanity.
As revealed in the Holy Scripture, the fall of man was instigated by Satan due to greed, pride and disobedience. Now having misled Adam and Eve through whom sin penetrated into the world, the garden of Eden turned into a pungent smell, from sin, much to the displeasure of God. This awful result of disobedience, which in itself destroyed the paradise on earth, designed with the finger of God, wherewith His infinite Love for man was portrayed, created a rift between God and man. That notwithstanding, had Adam and Eve been penitent, God would have forgiven them being such a sweet good God and bountiful in Mercy. It is most astonishing that Lucifer, the Satan, having tasted God's goodness and favor, turned evil, blinded with pride, in his meanness, fully aware of the consequences of his evil intentions, dared interfere in the affairs of God Who is his Benefactor, the God to whom he owes his existence, the God who loved him. His self-willed, mischievous evil act, the seduction of Adam and Eve to betray God's trust and friendship, which in his vanity he took for triumph, consequently generated enmity between him and the most compassionate, Good and Merciful God whose name is LOVE. There might have been the possibility for sin to be reversed while at its bud, preventing it from infiltrating into generations upon generations of the human race if events had taken a different turn, whereby the plain-tiffs, Adam and Eve, accepted their wrong-doing and uttered the simple word "sorry" which would have resulted in the Incarnation being unnecessary thereby saving God so much trouble. Should it on the long run be His Divine Will to make Himself physically known He would then, in His infinite Wisdom, have chosen a more convenient means than the hazardous and terrible bitter way of His passion. Nevertheless, despite all odds, the All Knowing and Ever Loving Protective Heavenly Father could not have had a better design for the redemption of the human race, providing her with the loveliest, beautiful, clement and sweet, Mother that ever was, ever is and ever will be, Immaculately conceived, the masterpiece of God. A genuinely remarkable Divine gesture, portraying the generosity of the God of Mercy, which surpasses, in great measure, the Divine Vision for humanity in the garden of Eden, whereby humanity was merely a friend, whereas in the new Vision humanity becomes, not only a friend, but also adopted into the Family of God and heir with His Only Begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, as His mother becomes the mother of the human race. What a marvelous inheritance! Humanity is most blessed, a reason to be most grateful to God and turn the back to Satan.
However, having chewed His disappointment, when nothing else could atone for sin, the sacrifice of a young and spotless lamb, as the chosen people, the old Israel, repeatedly fell woefully back into sin, God sent His Only Begotten Son into the world to serve the purpose. "f
